How to Fix Results Errors

Hey gang,

Just a note on errors in the NCNCA Cup race results. Despite all best efforts we are bound to have a few issues with errors in the results. Remember that the NCNCA Cup is a "virtual series" composed of six events with six different promoters and six different sets of results, so it's not easy for us either. So here's what to do if you have an issue:

1) The best time to fix results errors is at the venue. First make sure your name is written extremely, unbelieveably legible on your entry form. Giant block capitals wouldn't hurt. Later when the sleepless race promoter is typing in your results they will be less likely to get it wrong.

2) Second make sure to check results before you leave the venue especially with respect to finish order. The protest period is there for a reason. After protest period is closed, officially the results are set in stone, correct or not. Though in most cases promoters are happy to fix egregious errors, if you didn't raise the issue on race day you have limited leverage.

3) Promoter's published results are used to compile the NCNCA Cup standings. Any errors that do make it into the promoter's results need to be fixed with the promoter first. Start by emailing the promoter or the person publishing the results. Then the promoter will forward those results to us here at the NCNCA, then they get worked into the results. Again, the faster you do this the more likely your problem will get fixed quickly.

If you have a problem with the promoter's published results here are the contacts to start with for each event:

Central Coast: Keith DeFiebre, kdefiebre@hotmail.com
Surf City: Sabine Dukes, sabine@velobella.org
Sagebrush: Shawn, onespeedshawn@sbcglobal.net
Sacramento: 916cross@gmail.com
Golden Gate Park: Tom Simpson, info@pilarcitos.com
Peak Season: Dave Gill, teamsc@santacruzcycling.org

4) Last if all else fails, or the error is with the NCNCA tally and not the promoters, you can contact me directly: Dave Carr, davidlcarr@aol.com

Thanks for your understanding, and we appreciate your participation in the series. If you have any feedback on this or any other issue you can email me at the address above.
